Welcome, Rick Weldon!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERARick Weldon joined the Chamber staff in July, as part of our Member Relations team, and has been working hard to ensure the Chamber is responsive to member needs and concerns!

After 4 years in the US Naval Submarine Service and 12 years working for the Navy department, Rick began a career in politics. He was elected to the Board of County Commissioners for Frederick County, the Maryland House of Delegates, and as City Manager for both Frederick and Brunswick.

In the last few years, Rick has enjoyed acting with the Frederick Towne Players, playing Daddy Warbucks in Annie and Matthew Harrison Brady in Inherit the Wind. Rick also performed with the Maryland Ensemble Theatre in an improve show, though he says he prefers the stability of rehearsal and scripts.

With his political and community experience building and sustaining relationships, we know he’ll make him a great addition to the team!

  • I’m honored and humbled to be a part of such a great team, and proud to work with Frederick County’s diverse and energetic business community. I’d love to help you turn your Chamber investment into more clients, larger sales volume and a more fulfilling tool in your business development toolbox!

  • Rick, welcome to the Chamber. I wanted to say that we completed the survey and we appreciated the opportunity to do so. It was a wonderful idea to reach out to the membership and specifically ask how the Chamber is working for them, so thank you.

  • Rick, welcome to the Chamber. I wanted to say that we have completed the survey and we appreciated the opportunity to do so. It was a great idea to specifically ask Chamber members how the organization is or isn’t working for them, and we applaud the staff for being open to this feedback. Thank you.
